Techno is the counterpart of the House of Detroit that sounds more high-tech and mechanical, focusing not on the groove like Chicago House, but on rhythm and percussions. This genre was born from the integration of sounds produced by modern methods in music the African American population of the early 1990s was listening to ("Electroclash" Funk, Chicago House, "Electric Jazz").
